I thought that we might start with a cocktail recipe because…I mean, why not? We are all familiar with the song but I promise you that this isn’t your Uncle Snoop’s Gin+Juice…technically this is a recipe for gin and fermented soda…laid back (sigh) because we have a little extra time on our hands.
Fermented Soda
Grab a glass jar (as seen in the background) and fill it with your favorite fruit, the riper the better, avoid all citrus. Give your fruit a good muddle and then add filtered water (2 parts water/1 part fruit) stir, cover and let sit room temp. Stir twice a day for two days. By the end of the second day there should be plenty of bubbles. Strain your muddled fruit, stir in honey to taste, cover and then place in the fridge for a day or two and then you are soda ready!
